Michael Phelps was Caught Smoking a Bong! Pot Head Olympian

News of the World, a British tabloid, posted a picture on Saturday which they claim is of the 14-time Gold medalist taking a bong hit. (See photo here) Star Magazine also posted the photo. However, it isn't really clear that it actually is Phelps, who appears in profile wearing a baseball cap.

According to the News of the World story, Phelps was caught puffing the magic dragon in November 2009, weeks after his record-breaking performance at the Beijing Olympics. The story contains accounts by anonymous sources who attended the party, which the article says took place at the University of South Carolina, where Phelps pulled an "Almost Famous" moment and showed up unannounced at the shindig.

“He didn’t know many people so you’d think he’d be a little shy. But he was loud, obnoxious and slamming beers from the get-go," one of the unnamed sources is quoted in the article. “Every girl wanted a piece of him and every guy wanted to be his best buddy. He couldn’t get enough of all the attention.”

News of the World also claims Phelps' representatives attempted to stop them from running the story, but the gossip newspaper went ahead with it anyway. They have not yet responded directly to the allegations.

GushCrop isn't a Bad Stock! It's Ponzi

I didn't even know what a GushCrop was an hour ago but after some research I found that its an online seller for substance that one usually requires a prescription for. Most people already know that they need to be careful when dealing with things on the internet that you use a credit card for.
If somebody is promising free stuff and asking you for all details, it sounds like a deal that is too good to be true. Remember a lot of these things need prescription and cannot be bought by just anyone over the internet for free.

According to TechBynan.com they are suspected to be located in the United States, scandalous.Remember when buying stuff on the internet, since the transaction usually involves your credit card number, and other sensitive details like login/password. Remember that all sites use Secure Transmission Protocol. You can ensure the site you are dealing with is secure if it has https:// prefix. Generally its just http:// for regular browsing but when transactions are concerned and better security is paramount, there is the HTTPS protocol.

Times are hard but your not going to pretened to sell people medicine right or even making people believe that you can get this medicine for free. Scandalous people! I know there is a sucker born every minute and someone has to be there to capitalize, however some times I wonder if people even feel remorse for the things they do? Hey and for all the druggies that plans for the super bowl, serves yall right! Don't act like that S**t dont happen.....

Prison Guard Has Sex with Inmate and goes to Jail For it?

According to Cnn crime, A former prison secretary has been sentenced to six months in federal prison for having sex with an inmate she was supposed to be supervising, a spokesman for the U.S. Attorney's office in the District of Colorado said Friday.

Janine Sligar, 47, of Wray, Colorado, was sentenced Thursday for sexual abuse of a ward. After serving her sentence, she will serve five years of supervised release and must register as a sex offender, spokesman Jeff Dorschner said in a news release.

Sligar, who must surrender to a facility designated by the Bureau of Prisons on March 2, did not respond to a telephone call to her home for comment. She was indicted in July by a federal grand jury in Denver and pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in October.According to the plea agreement, Sligar, a 14-year Bureau of Prisons veteran, said she and inmate Eric McClain met in February 2007, when he was assigned to clean her office.

"They began to have conversations and realized they had similar interests," the plea agreement said. That summer, they initiated a sexual relationship that included 10 to 20 sessions of oral sex and sexual intercourse, ending in October 2007, it said. The liaisons primarily occurred in a staff restroom in the housing unit at the Federal Prison Camp in Florence, Colorado, according to the agreement.

Sligar, who acknowledged having detailed her activities in a journal, said she obtained a cell phone with a non-local phone number so McClain could call her without raising suspicion and admitted she gave him contraband that included photographs with explicit sexual poses, the plea agreement added.

Now what Is the big deal they don't want me to have sex with other men, and now even the prison guard cant get any! This is a little too much to call it sexual abuse he was getting service while she was getting stress relief. That's a real stimulus package! Well I hope our tax dollars are spent on other this rather than what's on the bathroom wall no matter if its bio hazard or not!

Facebook with One OPEN ID?

This week Google and Plaxo have announced that they've brough together OpenID, OAuth and the Google Contacts API to enable much simpler sign in, with the ability to bring contacts with you when you join new networks too.

(A great description of how it works can be found here: http://www.readwriteweb.com/cgi-bin/mt/mt-tb.cgi/10036)

This certainly gets close to matching Facebook Connect in most way, but misses out on two key features. First, there are no details of how other sites on we internet can use this functionality to benefit their members (like they can with FBC, albeit with some pain to get it implemented). Secondly, Plaxo and Google lack a central site with a common contact list and where details of activities on remote sites can be posted back to. OK, Google has quite a lot of e-mail addresses and Plaxo has 20 million users willing to volunteer more than that, but even combined the lack the cache of a network of 150 million people and 20% of the population logging in to check what is happening with the contacts they have (activities from FBC sites could be included in the Facebook newsfeed, driving traffic).

Finally! Bank Of America Sued For Part in Ponzi Scheme

According to ComputerWorld.com, a suit was filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia earlier this month, fraud victims claimed that BofA's role as the financial institution of the company behind the alleged Ponzi scheme lent the operation an air of misplaced legitimacy. The bank's failure to follow industry standards for compliance with money laundering laws and banking regulations, "aided and abetted" those behind the scheme, the lawsuit claimed.

Steven Berk, a lawyer at Chavez & Gertler LLP, the Washington-based law firm that filed the lawsuit, said today that the Ponzi scheme would not have succeeded to the extent it did without a "serious bank behind it. I have talked to ... victims who all said the fact they could make deposits (into the scheme) with Bank of America made them feel it was legitimate," he said. "That puts [the bank] squarely in the middle.

"It was not as if they were a tangential player in any of this," Berk said. He argued that the existence of multiple accounts in the company's name, numerous small deposits and the fact that the company was not selling any tangible product or service should have raised questions at the bank.

Named in the lawsuit along with BofA are the owners and operators of AdSurfDaily, AdSurfDaily Cash Generator, Golden Panda Ad Builder and La Fuente Dinero. All of the entities are alleged to have sold online "ad packages" that conferred membership in a program under which individuals were promised 150% of what they paid in return for viewing specified Web sites and advertisements. About 140,000 people signed up for the program.

Google Has Been Breached! Times are good for Hackers

According to the Security Fix, a glitch in a computer security program embedded deeply into Google's search engine briefly prevented users of the popular search engine from visiting any Web sites turned up in search results this morning. Instead, visitors were redirected to page that warned visitors: "This site may harm your computer."

Calls and e-mails sent to Google were not returned as of publication. I will update this blog if and when I hear back from them about the cause and length of this incident. The problem, which appears to have been corrected by the time of publication, was related to Google's "Stop Badware" program, which is designed to keep Internet users from visiting sites that Google's bots have found try to install malicious software when users browse the sites.

Google watch out time are getting hard and your pockets are awfully deep with information, that competitors might want. However this was more that likely a hacker seeing how far they could go before stopping the site or they might have got what they wanted. We will never know unless it happens again. Hopefully this won't cause my blog depends on it. lol but serious!

Chancellor Angela Merkel of Germany and A International Economic Body

According to the international Herald, a meeting of the Group of 20, an organization of industrialized nations and emerging markets, could begin laying the groundwork for change at a meeting in London in early April, Merkel said. From there, she said, the matter could go to the UN.

Striking a contrast to the gloomy atmosphere this year at a meeting that usually brims with optimism, Merkel argued that the economic crisis had laid bare serious weaknesses in financial regulation, but that the world had to look beyond the immediate.

"Incredible opportunities are opening up," Merkel said. "We are now seeing only the crisis."Merkel urged world financial leaders to implement the points that the G-20 leaders had agreed on in November in Washington. A major theme of that meeting was the need for more information on the complex financial constructs that lie at the heart of the crisis.

She emphasized that "the forces of free market economy" had to underpin the rules that emerge from the crisis. She lauded the German system, which mixes capitalism with a strong social safety net and potent regulators, but said she had no interest in "socialist command economies" and alluded to her own past as a child of the communist system.

"I grew up in what was East Germany," Merkel said. "Today I am chancellor of a united Germany. This shows me that nothing is impossible."

In her speech Friday, Merkel took a dig at the United States and Britain, which blocked German calls for greater openness by hedge funds when it headed the Group of 8 industrialized nations in 2007. "I don't want to cast my gaze back," Merkel said. "But I would like to remind people that in vain did Germany in the G-8 presidency try to inject transparency" into financial markets.

Black Conservative Not a Joke People to each his own!

Washington Teacher Tired of Teaching N-word from Mark Twain's Huckleberry Finn and Harper Lee's To Kill a Mockingbird

According to Strollerdearby on Babble.com Washington teacher says he's ready to stop teaching about the days when the "n-word" was acceptable - and he's willing to say bye-bye to some of the most acclaimed books of school curricula to do it.

John Foley says he's sick of having to explain the usage of the "n-word" in Mark Twain's Huckleberry Finn and Harper Lee's To Kill a Mockingbird to his students.

Sure, in the end the authors stood as beacons of light in their time for writing books that decried racism, but Foley doesn't think kids (or "an angry African American mom") have the wherewithal to stick with it to the end of the books.

OK, let's back up here. He's decrying racism and a lack of education with . . . racism and a refusal to educate?

Foley wrote a guest editorial in a recent issue of the Seattle Post Intelligence, noting he's sick of having to explain to those African American mothers why he has students read books that portray blacks as inarticulate and uneducated. He's weary of having black students sit in class uncomfortable when the "n-word" is read out in class. What's more - he says the kids find the books "dull and plodding," and they never get past the usage of the racist word.

I Agree Down with the nonsense and in with the enlightenment. Progress can't stand still even in literature, wee must get the message out. Let that book burn greater masterpieces in time were burned for lesser crimes and language. Down with the old in with the OBAMS's!

Why Won't He Just Call Me?

When it comes to dating, I look for the small considerate things men do to get a women’s attention. He doesn’t necessarily have to have a body built like Fabio, or a bank account like Bill Gates. One of the most important things is that he calls me.

Were in an era where younger adults are addicted to electronics. We have began to communicate less face to face, and more through text messages, emails, online chatting, and any social network we can get our hands on. This new technology is awesome, it‘s convenient, it has saved me from many hours of boredom, and allowed me to have contact with friends from all over the World. Although technology is great, there are some cases where texting or emailing should absolutely not be used. For instance, if I give a nice young man my number, and he fails to call me and have a conversation, but continues to text me in regards to a first date, I will not take him seriously. Texting takes away emotion and intimacy, and shows a lack of effort on his behalf.

A word of advice to you texting guru’s, is to first establish good conversation over the phone, before you text “hey when can we hook up?” A pleasant call from someone your interested in is refreshing and shows you’re a little more interested and confident then that texting guy.

That’s just my opinion. What’s yours?

The Starbucks closure marathon

Everyone has heard about Starbucks cutting and closing and so on. This stage now includes at least 6000 more jobs that are slashed. Since their net revenue has declined by 6% compared to the quater one year ago. But what I want to mention here: What does Starbucks mean to our social life?

It obviously offers places where people come together. It is a place where you can meet prospective friends, the love of your life and maybe people you never want/-ed to see again. It is a place where you get energized by a variety of drinks that has something ready for anyone.
It even offers internet if you still don't wanna socialize at all:)

Starbucks depends on your discretionary spending by consumers so don't let this energy source leave unused. Stop by, meet people, get the boost you need for work AND people and save Jobs at the same time.

I call that energizing your life in many ways at once!

Father Killed Family after Sending a Fax to News station and Called 911!

In LOS ANGELES, California CNN reported that the bodies of five children and two adults were found Tuesday in a home in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Wilmington, and authorities are investigating the case as a murder-suicide, police said.

The bodies were found inside this home in the Los Angeles suburb of Wilmington.
Among the dead were an 8-year-old girl and two sets of twins: 5-year-old girls and 2-year-old boys, authorities said."There is no reason to believe this is anything other than a murder-suicide," Lt. John Romero said. "There is no current threat to the community, no active search for a suspect."

The father and the three girls were found in one upstairs room of the home, the mother and twin boys in another, police said. Deputy Police Chief Kenneth Garner described the scene as one of the most grisly police have encountered.

The children's father is believed to have killed the children and their mother before calling 911 and contacting a local television station, KABC, by fax. He told dispatchers he found his family dead but told the station he had killed them, said Deputy Police Chief Kenneth Garner.

This is crazy, why take your family with you? I know times are hard but no reason to kill your self, however out government needs to get something going because people might feel like that's the only way to stay in their homes. I don't think he was in his right mind for a while for this to had happened. The community is a risk because this is a virus this depression it has some of the classic signs of a tidal way of despair.

Sarah Palin and the SARAHPAC

According to The Fix the PAC has a website and a post office box in Arlington, Virginia but has not yet formally filed its incorporation papers with the Federal Election Commission. According to an official with Sarahpac, papers were filed last night around 5 pm with the FEC and the PAC should be official by later today.

Sarahpac is "dedicated to building America's future, supporting fresh ideas and candidates who share our vision for reform and innovation," according to a statement on the PAC's website. The PAC's mission statement also highlights the importance of energy independence to the future of the Republican Party and the country at-large, a signal that Palin's likely 2012 bid will have energy policy at its foundation.

Sarah Palin as my president I don't think so I'd rather have Hillary any day but I don't claim any party I just know what works best for my minimum wage dollar. Palin seems like the Nixon time of president if she ever gets close that is. She would probably have earmarks out of this word and it wouldn't be illegal if she does it either.
I think she would spend too much time shooting rifles and plotting to get people she didn't like taken out to the shelf ice. More power to a woman trying to reach for the stars but just like with the Barack Obama an Jessie Jackson, black people waited for the right one not the first one!

Octuplets! Wow that's alot of Dirty Diapers!

The six boys and two girls were delivered by Cesarean section in Los Angeles, California. The babies, who weighed in at between 1.8lbs (820g) and 3.4lbs each, are all said to be doing well. They were screaming and kicking around very vigorously, according to a doctor at the hospital in suburban Bell flower.

The mother, whose identity has not been revealed, has asked that limited information be released about the births. A hospital spokeswoman described the deliveries, which took place in the space of five minutes, as "truly amazing".

This is crazy wow how does the stomach look after this happens? well in America were pop in out babies while in Japan people are getting off earlier to procreate more. Total Opposites right? Maybe in America we should take a lesson from our far east or should I say close west. Maybe quality is much better than quantity, now this is still a great story.

I just want people to think about each child they have as 24 yrs each or teaching, giving, learning, and patience to the max. Children shouldn't be like getting the ten for ten at Lucy's, it should be more like going to barneys twice a week when you only make like 20,000 a year. This woman was only the second to have eight babies at once she a trooper!

Jessica Simpsons Weight!? Is this really news?

Is this what news is in 2009? Jessica looks like she just needs a bigger size honey. If you haven't worked off those holiday pounds ladies just wear a dress that's flowie or some sweats, don't walk around looking like a bratwurst please! Well I know somebody likes it, cause when your man likes you with a couple extra pounds it's all good. she looks like Texas was feeding her. I know some people that think its a welcomed change. Female stars are getting thinner and thinner so girl if you get hungry eat that damn sandwich or whatever!

Woodfield Mall under Terror Attack!

Schaumburg Police Sgt. John Nebl (NEH'-bihl) said Monday afternoon that authorities responded to the mall after they received reports of two suspicious people entering the shopping center. Nebl says there have been no reports of crimes at the mall and that the police search was strictly precautionary.

Nebl says the mall hasn't been evacuated and that shoppers already in the mall are "allowed to go about their business."

He says police have restricted entrance to the mall to make the building easier to search.Wow now isn't that something do you realy think a terror tactic like that might take place at a mall? well ever since I seen that movie Traitor with Don Cheadle anything is likely to be suspect to these attacks right!

Is this what our society will be like? Why would you want to make people feel like there was no safe place to go? what gives them the right to take it upon themselves to declare this war? However where is the diplomacy in war now? Do we really need to act like savages in this new year and age? I hope for all of our sakes the popularity of our current administration overseas is good enough to stop the Armageddon that is taking place in the middle East. Hopefully is great enough to keep them at bay for now.

Actor Gerald McCullouh Attacked In subway!

Actor Gerald McCullouch, who is a cast member of the wildly popular television drama CSI (Crime Scene Investigation), was the victim of a crime when he was assaulted on a New York City subway. He was a YouTube video on his laptop computer when the attacker with a knife suddenly tried to rip off his computer.

Fortunately, Gerald McCullouch is a trained boxer, and unfortunately for the attacker. According to the New York Daily News, McCullouch gave the attacker a "body shot to the chest." Wow I'm sure he didn't think that actor packed a punch like that.

"That's when he pulled a kitchen knife out of a black plastic bag," McCullouch said. "This thing must have had a blade 10 inches long. ...I yelled at the top of my lungs, 'Get the [bleep] away from me!' That's when the knife came down into my back. I don't know whether he lost his grip or what, but the blade didn't penetrate my leather jacket."

Police have arrested the attacker. He is 39-year-old James Torres, and he is being charged with robbery, assault, menacing and criminal possession of a weapon. Torres has a date with the court on March 23. I bet Mr. Torres wished he just stood in line for unemployment like the rest of the country! well the moral of the story here is life is like a box of chocolate never know which pretty one will kick your butt! lol!

"Drunk'n Negro Face" Cookies WTF!!

Wow this is a real shame that someone would do this to drum up business during this harsh economy. This bakery that has designed these cookies is located in Greenwich Village, New York. The bakery is popular with celebrities and shows like Sex and the City has outraged neighbors by selling a "Drunken Negro Face" cookie in, um, "honor" of President Obama.
A shocked customer tells My Fox NY that Ted Kefalinos, proprietor of Lafayette French Pastry, asked her, "Would you like some drunken negro heads to go with your coffee? They're in honor of our new president. He's following in the same path of Abraham Lincoln; he will get his."

Later, her friend stopped by the bakery and said Kefalinos corrected her about the name of the cookies—they're actually drunken "N-word" cookies. She says the backwards baker then repeated the dark suggestion that, like Lincoln, President Obama "will get what's coming to him." Go Secret Service, go!

And it gets worse when Fox's Arnold Diaz goes into the store with a camera and microphone to confront Kefalinos, who suddenly makes Joe the Plumber look like a Rhodes scholar. "I called them Drunken Negro Heads. What's the problem with that?" Kefalinos asks the newscaster with a smirk. "On Inauguration Day I thought it would be cool to change the name to Obama Heads. I just changed it for the day." We suppose Burning Cross Bananas Foster was too complicated to mass-produce.

Kefalinos denies intimating that Obama would be assassinated, and insists that the cookie is "not unflattering. Kefalinos states, nobody got upset about the "Dead Geese Bread" he sold after the recent Hudson River plane crash. The owner says that he couldn't be racist because "my brother-in-law, he's Cuban." Someone please tell this guy to go jump of the bridge and just drown already in his racist ignorance.

Missile Attacks by the United Sates and President Obama?

The United states has been reported by CNN to have had dropped to missiles via drone plane. This is the first attack on terror by the new President Barack Obama. The Area where this happened was the upper right corner of the country and isn't heavily populated. The area is believed to still be a tribal area according to CNN. The U.S. is the only country operating in the region known to have the capability to launch missiles from the small, quiet and deadly drones, which are operated remotely.

The attack came just hours after the United States' top military officer, Adm. Michael Mullen, concluded talks with top Pakistani officials amid tensions between the two countries over the battle against terrorism.

Three houses were destroyed in the attacks, said eyewitness Mohammed Gulab Mahsud. Two drones flew over the homes for 40 minutes before unleashing two missiles each, Mahsud told CNN. The people in the homes were renting it and were believed to be foreigners -- Arabs and Uzbeks, Mahsud said.

This is our first attack on terror under our new administration however I feel this might be different it seems there is an awkwardness to it in a way. I'm not worried about his choices because he has a strong team but I don't know what extent I'll go for Change. Obama has my full support I have faith he'll get it right.

New Envoy for the Middle East---former senator George Mitchell and former Ambassador Richard Holbrooke.

Obama and his new top diplomat Clinton also unveiled what Vice President Joe Biden today called their "two new powerful weapons" --
Mitchell will take on the daunting task of shepherding the limping Middle East peace process. Holbrooke will take on the heavy portfolio of envoy to Afghanistan and Pakistan. One might wonder who has the tougher road ahead, but both men are experienced negotiators. Mitchell helped broker peace in Northern Ireland and Holbrooke mediated the Dayton Accords that ended violence in Bosnia.

Obama said he would send Mitchell to the Middle East as soon as possible, but after his appearance State Department officials could not pin down when that might happen. The President outlined a position similar to that of the Bush administration, but said his position appeared to be more balanced than that of his predecessor and offered additional acknowledgement of Palestinian concerns.

Obama said his team will take an integrated approach to dealing with Afghanistan and Pakistan and boost aid for the two countries, as well as resources for Americans working there. He pledged to pursue elements of terror in Afghanistan and across the border.

This seems t be a god Idea dividing up this area in order to provide the attention needed in order to keep everything on the up and up.

Obama to CLOSE GITMO?

President Barack Obama moved quickly Thursday to reshape U.S. national-security policy, ordering the Guantanamo Bay prison camp closed within a year, forbidding the harshest treatment of terror suspects and naming new envoys to the Middle East and Afghanistan-Pakistan.According to the Associated Press the president stated "We have no time to lose," at the State Department as he welcomed newly confirmed Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton to help him forge what he called "a new era of American leadership" in the world.

On his second full day in office, Obama moved to reverse some of the most contentious policies of his predecessor, George W. Bush. By ordering shut the prison camp at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, closing any remaining CIA secret prisons overseas and banning harsh interrogation practices, Obama said he was signaling that the U.S. would confront global violence without sacrificing "our values and our ideals."

"First, I can say without exception or equivocation that the United States will not torture," he said. "Second, we will close the Guantanamo Bay detention camp and determine how to deal with those who have been held there."

Now the question is where are all these people going some are too dangerous and some evidence cannot be used because of torture now i love my president but I hope were right about this one.

The Education Hole

The era of George Bush has ended and after making him responsible for everything that went wrong or will go wrong, the State of California has a small problem. Some may be surprised (I am wondering who) and some may not, but there is a hole in the pocket where actually should be money.

To close that hole California needs to cut costs. And the first thought that doesn’t come to our minds is: Education. But guess what, our politicians consider it as one of the best sources to reduce expenditures, as most of us know and painfully have experienced already. Degree programs are shut down, classes are canceled and teachers are laid off (didn’t we also have a problem with our unemployment rate? But oh well…).

So, what we are observing here is that another hole is cut actually into the same pocket- the education hole. Education is the investment in our future and will finally bring the money back into California’s money pocket. Leaving it behind only means that to catch up later will be more difficult and costs more money than it is saved now. The only thing that we can do is look at the teachers in L.A. who already have understood what education really brings and do what they are doing: energizing their life by being active and protest. (It seems there is nothing else left.)

Stimulus Package! What could you be getting?

Barack Obama's Plan to Stimulate the Economy plan would:

* Provide an immediate $250 tax cut for workers and their families.
* Provide an immediate, temporary $250 bonus to seniors in their Social Security checks.
* Provide an additional $250 tax cut to workers and an additional $250 to seniors if the economy continues to worsen
* Provide relief to homeowners hit by the housing crisis.
* Provide aid to states hardest-hit by the housing crisis to avoid a slash in services.
* Extend and expand Unemployment Insurance.

President Obama's economic plan will give a $75 billion BOOST! Most will go into the economy in the form of tax cuts and direct spending to the people who need it most.

Obama's proposal will immediately provide stimulus using means that do not require lengthy governmental or administrative delays. The plan also reserves an additional $45 billion of stimulus that can be released into the economy quickly in the future if the economy continues to go belly up further into a recession.

Is Spring coming to Auto Industry?

Everyone in US or even around the world is most likely suffering from the recession. Among those big corporations, Auto Industries must be the one which hurts the most. They hardest hit by this recession with dropping sales they would never expected before. People reduce the times of going out; most people stop travelling by cars during weekends or even longer break; no mention to the small number of new car buyers. Along with the Auto Industry, housing and retail are distressed as well. As the time Obama come into the board, we are holding breath and waiting to see if the economics would be better. CHANGE

How do we survive these trying economic times? For me learning to live within my means will increase my economic success. Learning to budget the money that is coming into the household verses the money that goes out of the home is key for me. Recent questions that I have ask myself are as follows:

Do I really need an item or is it just a want?
How can I cut back on my spending?
Can I afford to make a purchase or should I wait?
Am I pleasing myself or someone else by making a purchase?

Change is apporpriate for 2009. Let's change our relationship with money by learning to live within our means. Some strategies for economic success are read books on finance, learn to pay off debt, create a budget, and save for a rainy day.

Economic down-turn but a rising green spot?

We all know that the world economy suffers from a bad cold. A little sneeze here and some companies just disappear, a little cough there and huge amounts of money are gone. Economists seem to be helpless but pretend to have the perfect advice. Though, the right medicine hasen’t showed up yet.

But actually I don’t want to focus on the sick economy but on one industry that seems to be
healthier than most of our people - yes there are still some businesses out there. I am talking about the energy industry, the alternative energy sector! Considering the fact that the world demand for energy is growing, fossil fuels are…mhh…fossil and there is something called global warming it is a logical consequence. Obama’s generous investment plan for that sector would create more than 4 million jobs which, I would guess, is not bad for the economy.

Hearing about states like Michigan that pushes for green jobs to balance out the losses of the sick automobile industry or Tennessee that wants to make up the job losses in manufacturing industries I actually get a good, green feeling. Jobs in alternative energy sectors are high-paying jobs. Besides that, we actually can help to heal our ailing environment.
So having a green promising future will help a lot to make our economy healthy as well.

And to not just help the economy but your wallet as well check out this link that saves you energy and keeps your money in your wallet:

A Few Ways to Prep for the Hev-Ho.

Recently everyone has had to tighten there wallets a little and here's a couple of ways to make that dollar stretch if you on the verge of being laid-off or already are. Small home business recommends these tips:

*Pay down all debts when you suspect a lay-off. This will reduce your monthly bill payments. Get the family involved. Tell them about the job situation and focus on planning a family budget together.

*Start saving extra money to pay basic living expenses for the family. Bills to focus on include: the mortgage, rent, insurance, utilities, food, car payments for a minimum of 3 to 6 months. Save more money if possible. Deposit this money into an interest bearing savings account.

*Reduce Daily Expenditures. Only buy the necessities. Cut back on frivolous items like manicures, pedicures, haircuts every week. And too many clothing purchases, trips, vacations, concerts, movies,
Avoid impulse buys at the supermarket. These purchases will add up and break the budget.

*Once a major job slash is on the horizon start looking for part time work. One good idea is to make sure the part time gig will not interfere with the full time job. When the lay-off happens the part time job will cover many basic living expenses.

And it's always good to know health benefits and how much any insurance policy will cover in the event of a layoff. Know how much it will cost to continue the coverage. Investigate federal assistance programs that provide medical coverage plus any other options currently available. Determine eligibility, exactly how to apply for unemployment, amount of benefits, and the length benefits will be provided.
