Lil Wayne interview with Katie Couric! LMAO!

This week Lil Wayne went head-to-head with Katie Couric in an interview to promote this year's Grammy awards. The interview seemed to be unlikely pairing, but with his eight Grammy nominations, Lil Wayne is clearly the man of the hour and the person to help boost CBS's nightly news ratings.

The interview hit all the hard hitting issues including Lil Wayne's shiny grill, his tattoos, and swagga, or as Katie put it, his "tude". Other highlights include:

Lil Wayne's sensitive side. When asked why he dropped the "D" from his real name, "Dwayne" the rapper tells Katie that he's a junior and never had his father in his life. I don't want to be Dwayne; I'd rather be Wayne.
Lil Wayne's secret passion. The rapper has bowled since he was 16. That doesn't mean he's a pro though. During the interview, Lil Wayne threw a couple of gutter balls while bowling with Katie Couric. He jokingly requests they be edited out. Of course CBS would never consider doing that. Kick them while they're down!
Lil Wayne's drug use. We all know about Lil Wayne's reported drug use from his arrests last year. Katie asks him about his addiction to prescription cough syrup, which he never fully admits to completely giving up. When Katie states, You also reportedly like…like your weed, Wayne proudly retorts, I will stand up for marijuana anyday…I'm a rapper. That's who I am, Ms Katie, and I am a gangsta.

I;m Extremely Terrified of Chinese People?!?

The idea behind Google (GOOG) Suggest is type a few words into the Google's search box, and an algorithm figues out what the full search is likely to be based on what everyone else is searching for.

It's a great service, and we use it all the time. But we were a little shocked to see Google's picks for the phrase beginning "i am extremely."

What does the Internet have against the Chinese?

President Obama appointed Joshua DuBois, a former associate pastor and advisor to the President in his U.S. Senate office and campaign Director of Rel

According to Huffington Post, President Obama appointed Joshua DuBois, a former associate pastor and advisor to the President in his U.S. Senate office and campaign Director of Religious Affairs, to lead this office. "Joshua understands the issues at stake, knows the people involved, and will be able to bring everyone together - from both the secular and faith-based communities, from academia and politics - around our common goals," said President Obama.
In a speech Thursday at the National Prayer Breakfast, President Obama outlined how the new faith-based office under DuBois will be a departure from that of the Bush administration. From the Washington Post:

Speaking at the National Prayer Breakfast at the Capital Hilton in Washington this morning, Obama said the goal of the initiative "will not be to favor one religious group over another -- or even religious groups over secular groups. It will simply be to work on behalf of those organizations that want to work on behalf of our communities, and to do so without blurring the line our founders wisely drew between church and state."

Juicy Campus Kicked OUT oF SCHOOL!

According to the CharlotteObserver.com, Juicy Campus, a website that fostered vulgar, crass, anonymous gossip among college students, has fallen victim to the recession. The online board, the brainchild of Duke University graduate Matt Ivester, was a popular place for college students to make crude comments about others. Cloaked, naturally, in anonymity.

The website vexed university administrators, many of whom are surely reveling in its demise. It certainly didn't raise the level of campus discourse, what with topics like "Biggest slut on campus" and the like.

Ivester created the website while at Duke. According to the Chronicle of Higher Education, one Duke administrator tried, unsuccessfully, to convince Ivester to tone it down. So the administrator, Larry Moneta, Duke's vice president for student affairs, advised colleagues to just let the website play itself out, according to the Chronicle article.

"This is one of the rare occasions in which I got it right," Moneta told that publication. "It ran its course, in some respects longer than I expected. Rest in peace."

The Yellowstone club for Sale, only 100 million, so that what the ultrarich like to do...

According to The Canadian Press, The Yellowstone Club, an exclusive haven for the ultrarich now under federal bankruptcy protection, could be sold for $100 million to a Boston financial firm. The sale would take place under a deal outlined in court documents.

Documents filed by club attorneys show an affiliate of CrossHarbor Capital Partners LLC has agreed to pay $30 million in cash and $70 million in a promissory note for the 5,300 hectare club near Yellowstone National Park.

CrossHarbor also has agreed to invest an additional $50 million in capital improvements at the club and $25 million for other expenses. That $175-million investment comes up far short of prior appraisals of the club, which has been valued at anywhere from $310 million to $780 million.

Club spokesman Bill Keegan says other offers were still being sought. He called the Crossharbor agreement a benchmark from which to start. The club counts Dan Quayle and Bill Gates among its 340 members, yet had been only partially developed when it fell more than $400 million in debt last year.

The deal is contingent on court approval and other purchase proposals.

According to Reuters.com, Hall of Fame baseball pitcher Sandy Koufax and World Trade Center developer Larry Silverstein are among well-known people listed as customers of accused swindler Bernard Madoff, according to new court papers.

Among the thousands of others on the roster are U.S. Sen. Frank Lautenberg, imprisoned class-action lawyer Melvyn Weiss, and Madoff's sons, Mark and Andrew, and his brother, Peter.

The 162-page document was filed late on Wednesday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in New York as part of the liquidation of Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities LLC by a court-appointed trustee to recover assets for defrauded customers.

In all, five lists were filed with the court, labeled Customers, Vendors, Employees, Brokers/Dealers and Other Parties.

The customer list contains names and addresses of individuals and institutions. No amounts of money were included in the lists. The lists were put together by AlixPartners LLP, a firm assisting the trustee in reviewing books and records.

One of Madoff's lawyers, Ira Lee Sorkin, is also named on the customer list.

15,000 Stimulus for HOME OWNERS! FORCLOSURE! AND BAD LOANS! YEAH! OBAMA

Within just a few moments of beginning votes on several amendments to the stimulus package, the Senate easily passed by voice vote two measures that were popular on both sides of the aisle.

The swift passage of a tax deduction for homebuyers and a small business provision was yet another sign — like the car-buying incentive passed last night — that the types of items attracting strong Republican support are those that put money in consumers’ pockets or provide tax breaks to persuade them to spend. (Related article by David Herszenhorn.)

Since the Senate began debating the stimulus in earnest on Tuesday, Republican senators have been balking at the size of the stimulus package and the way that it is weighted (in their view) toward spending versus tax cuts. This morning, in opening remarks on the floor, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell began by ticking off amendments that passed on Tuesday night, proposals that added at least $17 billion to the bill. “Unfortunately, Democrats just keep throwing more money on top of an incredibly bloated bill,” Mr. McConnell said earlier today.

(Although $11 billion of the money he mentioned is the estimated cost of the car-purchasing tax deduction — one that received broad G.O.P. support. And $6.5 more billion went toward additional money for the National Institutes of Health, which Republican Senator Arlen Specter backed.)

One proposal promoted by Senator Johnny Isakson of Georgia had bipartisan support even before the vote. It would offer new homebuyers a tax credit of up to $15,000 or 10 percent of the purchase price of a house that could be spread over two years. The proposal, which would double the $7,500 tax credit under current law, is estimated to cost $20 billion. “Ít is the beginning of what is going to be a long climb back,” the senator said earlier.

Coroner: Death of boy, 10, at Ill. school suicide

A 10-year-old boy reportedly found hanging from a coat hook at his suburban Chicago school took his own life, according to a preliminary coroner's office ruling on Wednesday. A daily ledger released by the Cook County medical examiner noted "hanging" and "suicide" as the cause of death for fifth-grader Aquan Lewis, who was found unresponsive in a bathroom at the Evanston school Tuesday afternoon and was pronounced dead at a hospital Wednesday morning.

The boy's distraught mother, Angel Lewis, left a school district building hours earlier, not speaking directly to reporters but saying over and over, "He should have been accounted for. He should have been accounted for."

A janitor at Oakton Elementary School, Elliott Lieteau, said he found Aquan on the floor of the restroom and that others told him the boy had been pulled off a hook. Lieteau said he performed CPR.

Speaking before the coroner's finding, a community activist who accompanied Lewis and acted as her spokeswoman said Lewis did not believe her boy committed suicide.

"She sent her son to school yesterday morning in good spirits," Dawn Valenti said. "The next thing she knows she's getting a call that her son died. ... He did not commit suicide. There was nothing wrong with her son."

What is Wrong with Sheyla Hershey? Right....

According to the Huffington Post,28-year-old Sheyla Hershey of Brazil is the proud owner of the world's largest breasts -- with a staggering, life-threatening, and unfortunately-named bra size of 38KKK.

In May, ABC News reported that Hershey's breasts were 34 FFF after eight surgeries and one gallon of silicone. But she wasn't done yet. On her way to achieving her dream, she encountered certain roadblocks, like Texas law. The state limits the amount of silicone that one person put in their body because the implants could kill her. So she headed to Brazil, which has no such restrictions, and walked away with the breasts of her dreams

Arnold Schwarzenegger on a solution to California's fiscal problems

The failure of state legislators to agree with Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger on a solution to California's fiscal problems has come back to bite them in their own wallets.

State Controller John Chiang has notified lawmakers that along with deferring the payment of tax refunds, college grants and aid to the poor, he is withholding the $173 a day that legislators get to help defray the expense of having a second home in the capital.

"We are delaying per diem and travel expenses to all state employees, including legislators," said Hallye Jordan, a spokeswoman for the controller. "It's not one of the payments required by the state Constitution, federal law or court order."

Chiang has delayed state payouts for at least February because the state treasury has run out of cash as the Legislature and governor struggle to fill a potential $42-billion budget gap projected for the next 17 months.

Barack Places a Salary Cap on Ceo's! Finally,do we draft these LOSERS too!

WASHINGTON (AP) — Assailing out-of-touch corporate pay and perks, President Barack Obama on Wednesday slammed a salary cap on top executives from companies that want bailouts — but it's a limit that could end up thinning the wallets of only a small number of people.

Obama's action comes as many Americans, while hanging on for economic life, have watched Wall Street high-flyers receive big-dollar bonuses even as their firms draw public help for survival. The outcry has grown with each report of a bailed-out company that plans to buy a jet or hold a Las Vegas retreat.

The president aimed for a target — extravagant corporate behavior on the public dime — that fit the mood of the day. His $500,000 salary limit on executives from a limited number of companies was part of a broader assault on what he called a "reckless culture" that has helped wreck the economy.

"We don't disparage wealth. We don't begrudge anybody for achieving success. And we believe that success should be rewarded," Obama said. "But what gets people upset — and rightfully so — are executives being rewarded for failure, especially when those rewards are subsidized by U.S. taxpayers."

Top business leaders often receive annual packages worth several million dollars, so a $500,000 compensation cap is striking.

Yet in practical terms, the intervention into the corporate world is also limited.

The compensation cap covers distressed companies seeking special bailouts but would not apply retroactively to those that already have received them. What's more, consultants on executive pay say the cap will probably apply only to a few executives — not big-time traders, brokers and salespeople who routinely earn whopping pay packages. And there are sure to be efforts to exploit loopholes as the new rules start to take hold.

Had the salary cap been in place when the $700 billion bailout program began, it probably would have applied only to executives at five companies that have received so-called exceptional help: Chrysler LLC, General Motors Corp., American International Group Inc., Bank of America Corp. and Citigroup Inc.

Going forward, the compensation cap would also apply to other banks that receive more broadly available aid — but they could get around it by disclosing their plans and involving shareholders in the decision. Some 360 companies have received such aid. The cap does not apply to them retroactively, either.

That great Deal on a Laptop from India WAS A FAKE!

According to The Indian Times, The hype surrounding the $10 laptop ``prototype'' with two GB RAM turned out to be a joke when the department of Human Resources
Development announced — during its inauguration in the temple town of Tirupati — that it wasn't a laptop at all but a computing device.

While the world eagerly waited for the launch of the $10 laptop — designed by students of Vellore Institute of Technology, scientists in Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, IIT-Madras, UGC and MHRD — it wasn't a patch on the $100 laptop made by MIT.

The MHRD officials said the price was working out to be $20 but with mass production it was bound to come down to $10 (Rs 500) and thus become affordable for every student in India.

But netizens were disappointed when the ``laptop'' turned out to be nothing more than a computing device along with a hard disk with e-books, e-journals and relevant educative material through the state-art-of-the-art ``Sakshat'' portal.

As the device appeared smaller than the normal laptop with 10-inch length and five-inch width, buzz got around that it was a ``Nano-top'' and not a laptop. But MHRD official brought the curtains down on all the hungama, saying it was just a computing device with 2GB memory

Chinese authorities found more than 5,000 bottels of Fake Diabetes Medication!

Chinese authorities have found more than 5,000 bottles of fake diabetes medication in two provinces that last month were blamed for the deaths of two patients, state media said on Thursday. The patients died in China's far western region of Xinjiang after taking the counterfeit medication.

Now the government has found the same fake drug in southwestern Sichuan province and the western province of Qinghai, state radio said in a report carried on the official website, www.china.com.cn.

However, nobody has yet been found to have fallen sick after taking the fake drug in either province, the report added.Police have already detained four people in Xinjiang for selling the medication, the Xinhua news agency added.

"Authorities have said that their preliminary investigation showed that the counterfeit drug was not produced in Xinjiang, but they have so far failed to find its source," Xinhua said.China is battling a string of food and drug safety scandals.

A court last month sentenced two men to death for their role in making and selling milk tainted with melamine, an industrial compound. At least six children died and nearly 300,000 fell ill after drinking the toxic dairy products last year.

The government has warned that the economic slowdown could lead to more cases as struggling drug makers cut corners and violate standards. (Reporting by Ben Blanchard; Editing by Ken Wills and Dean Yates)

No Jobs Here! Go Over Seas Like Jim Fassel

Jim Fassel has agreed to help launch the Las Vegas UFL affiliate, expected to kickoff their season this fall. Yes, the UFL - United Football League - will compete with the NFL.
Very little is known right now about the league, however the Las Vegas Review-Journal knows this much:

UFL commissioner Michael Huyghue would "not confirm or deny" Fassel's hiring, but said there would upcoming announcements regarding the league.

Such announcements probably would cover the number of teams, which cities will be involved, who the coaches will be and how many games will be played.

Although the commissioner has not confirmed or denied, the story is making its way through various outlets, all of which claim a "source" has confirmed Fassel's hiring.

Cisco Shares Drop Drastically

According to Market Watch, Cisco Systems Inc. said Wednesday that earnings for the second fiscal quarter fell 27% as sales declined and expenses increased, though the final result was slightly better than Wall Street expected.
However, the network equipment giant saw its shares drop more than 3% in after-hours trading after it issued a disappointing sales forecast for the current period.

CSCO, , ) results highlighted what many analysts already feared was a dramatically weakening tech market that is starting to hurt even the giants of the industry.
"Yuck, it's bad out there," said analyst Samuel Wilson of JMP Securities, noting that January was "ugly," which appears to be "in-line with the macroeconomic picture."

Cisco reported a fiscal second-quarter net income of $1.5 billion, or 26 cents a share, compared with $2.1 billion, or 33 cents a share, for the year-earlier period.
Revenue was $9.1 billion, down from $9.8 billion for the same quarter last year. Adjusted income was 32 cents a share. Analysts had expected the company to report earnings of 30 cents a share on revenue of $9 billion, according to a consensus survey by Thomson Reuters.

President Obama Signs the SCHIP Bill!

According to CNN.com, President Barack Obama signed the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) bill into law this afternoon, expanding coverage to 4.1 million more kids and extending the program through 2013.The House voted 290-135 earlier today to pass the bill and send it to the president.

This was the second time the chamber passed an SCHIP bill this month. But the Senate passed a slightly different version last week, and House leaders decided to ratify the Senate bill rather than delay the legislation further by sending it to a conference committee.

Notably absent from the final bill is a provision that would have blocked Medicare and Medicaid funds to new or expanded physician-owned hospitals. That language was in the initial House version, but the Senate omitted the restriction in its bill.

Additionally, the legislation makes children of legal immigrants eligible for SCHIP as soon as their parents arrive in the U.S., instead of having to wait five years as was previously required. Republican lawmakers tried but failed to maintain the five-year exclusion.

The expanded SCHIP will now cover an estimated total of 11 million children in working-poor families who don't quality for Medicaid.

The Congressional Budget Office estimated that the expanded coverage will add $32.8 billion to the cost of SCHIP from 2009 to 2013. The extra cost is to be covered by a 68-cent-per-pack increase in the cigarette tax.House majority leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) lauded the bill's passage.

Madoff Get's His Turn At SEC Finally!

According to Usnews.com, Harry Markopolos is mad as hell, and he's not going to take it anymore! The man who tried to warn the Securities and Exchange Commission back in 2005 about Bernie Madoff's massive $50 billion fraud (he called Madoff's company "the world's largest Ponzi Scheme") has been testifying today before a House Financial Services subcommittee about what regulators simply refused to do in identifying one of the largest cases of fraud in the history of finance.

Markopolos says he and others pursuing Madoff were at great personal risk given Madoff's powerful spot as a Wall Street market maker with a sterling reputation right up until his arrest in December. Also, the SEC comes off looking entirely bush-league when it came to uncovering this fraud, even with Markopolos' help. He calls his interactions with the SEC a "systemic disappointment." Highlights from the testimony:

“There was an abject failure by the regulatory agencies we entrust as our watchdog."
"Every bit of information we obtained was in the public domain. We never had any secret insider documents or smoking gun e-mails."
"What troubles us is that dozens of highly knowledgeable men and women also knew that (Madoff) was a fraud and walked away silently, saying nothing and doing nothing."
The scariest feature of this entire scandal is that it's unlikely anyone would've stopped it at all had the credit crisis and market upheaval of late 2008 not sent one too many Madoff investors running for the exit.

Football fever beyond the season

The season is over, no football games at all but coaches and fans feel their nerves being stretched. There will be coming and going in collge teams.
It's decision time for recruits!
The decisions made will heavily influence the fortune of college programs and success of the teams. The two prominent websites that can have a significant effect on a player's career are Scout.com and Rivals.com. They evaluate the players season and rank them.

Again, it is all about money. Colleges have to invest money for their recruiters travelling around and have the risk of loosing that money if their recruiting efforts turn out to be unsuccessful. Which means other colleges were more lucky.

My personal opinion on that recruiting hype is that it is the money that decides whether a team is successful or not and not the training pracitices. I say, let's try something new and go recruiting free for 2-3 years. Wouldn't that improve their exercises and make the games more thrilling?

I leave it to you to build your energized opinion on that.

Festival Canceled due to Sluggish ticket sales.

According to Rolling Stone Magazine, This year’s Langerado Festival in Miami, Florida, has been canceled, the fest’s organizers revealed today in a statement. The seventh annual Langerado, scheduled for March 6-8th at Miami’s Bicentennial Park, was set to feature performances by Death Cab for Cutie, Modest Mouse, Ryan Adams, Snoop Dogg, Deerhunter, Thievery Corporation and many more. “Sluggish ticket sales” were the reason for the cancellation according to the festival’s Website, as “Langerado’s independent local promoters, faced with a very tough decision in a dismal economy, canceled the 2009 event only after every possible option was exhausted.”

“Unfortunately, during these difficult economic times, and facing a first year in a new venue, it’s become apparent that we cannot execute a production that lives up to the high standards of our past events,” Langerado Co-Promoter Ethan Schwartz said. “Putting Langerado on hold was the toughest decision we have ever had to make. We are very grateful for the support of the greater-Miami community and the music community during this difficult time.” All tickets purchased for the event will be refunded.

Green Company: Elephant Pharmacy goes Out of Business!

According to the San Jose Journal, The Berkeley-based retailer has filed for chapter 7 bankruptcy and has already closed its three stores in Berkeley, San Rafael and Walnut Creek. No details were available on when or how the six-year-old company planned to liquidate its inventories, but at the Walnut Creek store, many products have been out of stock for some time.

Kathi Lentzsch, Elephant’s CEO, said in a statement that the company had failed in an effort to raise capital and was left with no other option than to file for bankruptcy. In September 2008, the company closed its Los Altos location and reduced its corporate staff in a cost-cutting measure that could not save the company.

The company employed 190 in its three stores and main office. The three closed stores were at 1607 Shattuck Ave. in Berkeley, 909 Grand Ave. in San Rafael and 1388 South California Blvd. in Walnut Creek and averaged 12,000 square feet.

Wells Fargo uses BAILOUT MONEY to visit CASINO in LAS VEGAS! WTF

According to bloomberg.com, Last week, Wells Fargo reported a $2.55 billion fourth- quarter loss after acquiring Wachovia Corp. and its portfolio of troubled mortgages. Wells Fargo received $25 billion from the U.S. government in October as part of the Troubled Asset Relief Program designed to spur lending and save the financial system.

“The question here is whether Wells Fargo is spending taxpayer money to bankroll Las Vegas junkets,” New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo said in an e-mailed statement. “That is an answer the American people deserve to know because this is their money.”

Wells Fargo has bolstered lending as its top competitors scaled back. The company added $9.7 billion in loans in the fourth quarter, compared with a combined $86.4 billion decline at JPMorgan Chase & Co., Bank of America Corp. and Citigroup Inc. Wells Fargo said last week that it doesn’t need additional government capital after Citigroup and Bank of America required a second round of bailout funds.

Some smaller banks have opted not to participate in TARP. Community Bank System Inc. in Dewitt, New York and Tulsa, Oklahoma-based BOK Financial Corp. both said in November they had plenty of capital without government support.

Wells Fargo fell 70 cents, or 3.6 percent, to $18.53 at 4 p.m. on the New York Stock Exchange. The shares have tumbled 45 percent in the past year.

The canceling of corporate meetings is adding to the casino industry’s woes. Wynn Resorts, the biggest U.S. casino company by market value, said today that it will cut pay for all salaried employees in Las Vegas and reduce hours for others as the recession drives away consumers. Wynn shares have lost 75 percent of their value in the past year

Citi Bank Sues a PAWN SHOP! THEY ARE LOW!

According to CNNMONEY.com, a suit filed last week in Brooklyn federal court, Citigroup alleges that in using the same Citi abbreviation and red arc as its banking subsidiary, Citibank, All Citi Pawn has infringed on their trademark. Citigroup is seeking all of the business' profits since it adopted the All Citi name.

"What can I tell you? Its crazy. They're going wild for a little art that I put up. Theirs is a moon shape, mine is a V-shape, but I've already taken it down," pawn shop manager Bob Kay told CNN.

When contacted, Citgroup (C, Fortune 500) would say only that "as a matter of course, we work to protect the value of our trademarks." According to trademark attorney Michael Feigin, no matter how small an infraction this may seem, in order to keep a trademark, it has to be protected.

"It is important for Citigroup to know that no one is trading off their name - they need to protect their intellectual property." Feigin went on to say, however, that removing the offending logo should resolve the case. According to Kay, it has not

Did Hannah Montana Give off Racist Vibes!

Accordind to Fox new, a photo obtained by TMZ, of sixteen year old Miley Cyru sitting in boyfriend Justin Gaston’s lap surrounded by a group of friends all making a stereotypical gesture by pulling their eyes into a slanted position. The gesture is commonly thought to be offensive to Asian Pacific Americans.

The OCA, an organization dedicated to advancing the social, political and economic well-being of Asian Pacific Americans in the U.S., has slammed Cyrus for the photo.

In a statement on its Web site, the OCA says: “The photography of Miley Cyrus and other individuals slanting their eyes currently circulating the Internet is offensive to the Asian Pacific American community and sets a terrible example for her many young fans.

Miley Cyrus gone Green over a black Prius!

According to Entertainment Tonight, They had a feeling that old hand-me-down Porsche Cayenne wasn't going to last long for Miley Cyrus. Two months after being given her mom's old SUV as a Sweet 16 present, Miles is over it for some interesting reasons.

For one, "it was too big and scared her," a source tells E! News. Also, she's pretty serious about going green, especially with a soon-to-be released single on her current album, Breakout, titled "Wake Up America." That song goes a little something like this:

Oh, the earth is calling out
I wanna learn what it's all about
But everything I read's global warming, going green
I don't know what all this means
But it seems to be saying

Wake up America
We're all in this together
It's our home, so let's take care of it
You know that you want to, you know that you got to

Subtle, no? (It's about saving the environment.) So Billy Ray finally woke up and surprised her with a black Prius over the weekend. We gotta hand it to Miley: With all her bike riding and now hybrid driving, it really seems like she's legitimately trying to live green.

Jefferson city School Assaults Increased!

Jefferson City High School has reported 22 assaults so far this school year. That's equal to last year's total assaults for the year. Jefferson City School District Spokesperson, David Luther, says some schools have seen a decrease in the number of assault reports.

Luther says the district attributes the high number to students bringing outside problems and disputes to school. The School District is going to work with students and parents to clarify appropriate behavior and handle any assaults internally. Luther says in the meantime, schools will continue to follow normal protocol.

Students guilty of assault face up to ten days out-of-school suspension in the Jefferson City School District. The school district defines assault as physically injuring another person. The legal definition says physical contact isn't necessary for an assault to occur.

This is a shame all those kids having kids! Someone should have taught some of these children and their parents that putting your hands on someone shouldn't be the only way to adress the problem. However if someone put's their hands on you you definitly should givve them what they asking for. Despite the self defence, these kids are crying out due to some problem in there community. Social issues need to be adressed, if there steming from job loss or dynamic issues in the home. Hopefully change will help to put out the fire for this inferno.

Still Time to get Stimulus from LAST YEAR!

According to CNNMoney.com, An estimated 25 million -- or 1 in 5 -- taxpayers may have a second chance to cash in on rebate money still available from last year's economic stimulus plan, even if they received money last year, according to The Tax Institute at H&R Block.

Eligible taxpayers are taking home hundreds of additional dollars on their federal returns. Last year's stimulus payment netted most eligible taxpayers an additional $600 for single filers; $1200 for joint filers, plus an additional $300 for each qualifying child.

H&R Block (NYSE: HRB) alerts taxpayers to speak with a professional to see if they're eligible. Among those who may qualify for additional rebate money this year:

-- First-time filers
-- Taxpayers who had a child in 2008
-- Taxpayers whose net tax liability increased in 2008 vs. 2007
-- Taxpayers who got married or divorced in 2008
-- People who share custody of a child, claiming on alternate year.
-- The 2.6 million who lost their job in 2008
-- People who aren't required to file -- and didn't file a tax return
last year

"In this tough economy, taxpayers want to get the most out of their refund," said Amy McAnarney, executive director of The Tax Institute at H&R Block. "With last year's tax law changes designed to boost the economy -- and leftover money from the rebate -- many taxpayers are taking home a windfall they really need."

When Americans received their rebate checks last year, those payments were based on 2007 tax return information. Taxpayers whose circumstances changed in 2008 may now qualify for the recovery rebate credit or qualify for additional money at a critical economic time.

In addition, taxpayers who don't typically file a return -- and failed to last year -- may still be able to cash in on the rebate. Qualifying income such as Social Security or VA disability benefits of at least $3,000 could mean a minimum credit of $300 for single filers or $600 for joint filers

Super Bowl Porn! I hope that was a slip up!

According to The Wall Street Journal, Comcast is examining whether a malicious attack is behind the interruption of the company’s Super Bowl coverage Sunday by a pornographic film in some areas of Tucson. The interruption, which lasted less than 30 seconds, affected customers watching the company’s standard definition coverage but not high-definition customers, a Comcast spokeswoman said.

Comcast has contacted the Federal Communications Commission as well as local authorities to investigate the matter. But an initial review showed that the company’s technical systems functioned properly at the time of the incident, suggesting someone deliberately seeking to interrupt the broadcast rather than a technical glitch.

“We are mortified by the incident and we apologize to our customers,” the Comcast spokeswoman said. The company will likely issue credits to customers who were affected, though the amount remains to be determined.

The station from which Comcast picked up its feed was NBC affiliate KVOA, which said it provided Cox Communications with a feed of the broadcast via fiber line, which Cox subsequently sent to Comcast, also via a fiber line. KVOA said on its Web site that only Comcast customers saw the pornographic images and that customers of other operators, like DirecTV Group and Cox Communications, as well as over-the-air viewers, received “clean feeds.” The incident “sparked a flurry of angry phone calls and emails to our newsroom,” the company wrote on its Web site.

According to The Wall Street Journal, The Comcast spokeswoman said it was not immediately apparent how or where the breach occurred. Cable signals pass through several pieces of transmission facilities, including out to an operator’s local offices and to customers ‘ homes.

This is the first time the company is aware of its signal being tampered with in this way, the Comcast spokeswoman said.

Belly off diet

Here we go!
Another genius has made his mind up about how we can get a Jessica Alba stomach without lifting any finger. WOW!
Let's see what he suggests!

The advice: Eating a specific type of way to avoid the "get togethers" of belly fat.
Note: Belly Fat is the most dangerous one considering your risk for heart diseases, diabetes etc.
What to do: Get 4 meals per day consisting of not more than 400 kalories. But not any meal, it should be olives, nuts and seeds, avocados, and even dark chocolate which all include mono unsaturated fatty acids. WOW!
The nice side effect is that you really feel full after eating those comestibles and that this feeling last even longer. And this food does not even want you get off the diet because it is actually really tasty.

Guess what: The genius I was talking about is a magazine.

I know, for a lot of people the word DIET causes already energized motivation. But you live still an unhealthy life if you do not exercise.

Reminder:
Our body is constructed to be exercised (look at evolution)! It is unnatural how much we are sitting, lying, resting and so on. Move your ass because muscles are the best fat burner than everything else.

Energize your life by spending energy on work outs!

Did the Ground Hog See His Shadow?!?

Its groundhog day 2009! According to the National Ledger, Puxatony Phil, that buck toothed weather forecaster is out of the hole. Did the groundhog see his shadow? Unlike Al Gore's dire warning earlier that the earth is almost so hot it is ready to spontaneously combust, the rather large rodent used his incredible forecasting skills to predict, six more weeks of Winter! The groundhog saw his shadow.

Hey what ever helps the economy at this point I'm waiting on wall street to see theirs and know they too are touchable by this economic stint, However I ready for some warmer weather. Not at the expense of polar bears that's why I tell my neighbor Alice to stay inside til 11. lol!

Well now that we went over that, Let's look at some of the biggest wastes of time during the super bowl.

Remember get energized about something and it will energize YOU!

MVP of Super Bowl 43? Santonio Holmes

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — From selling drugs on the street corner to Super Bowl MVP. Now that's a story Santonio Holmes will share forever. In a game that stunningly got better with every play, the Pittsburgh Steelers saved their very best for the end.

Somehow, Holmes managed to keep his feet planted in the end zone as he pulled in Ben Roethlisberger's pass for a 6-yard touchdown with 35 seconds left, and the Steelers shocked the Arizona Cardinals 27-23 Sunday for their record sixth Super Bowl championship.

The fourth quarter was filled with wild swings. The whole game, really, featuring heroes in step with today's economic times: first the Steelers' James Harrison, cut by so many teams that he thought of quitting football to be a bus driver, and then Cardinals quarterback Kurt Warner, a former Super Bowl MVP since deemed over the hill by three different teams. The biggest story, though, belonged to Holmes.

Earlier this week, Holmes told the tale of his childhood in poverty-stricken Belle Glade, Fla. He admitted he didn't need the money he got selling drugs for food or to help his family. He mostly spent it on shoes and gifts for himself.

"I'm pretty sure some kids can get a feel for changing their lives and not doing those type of things, and can get an opportunity to get out of the ghetto, the 'hood, to be successful," he said a few days ago.

HERE'S THE WINNING DRIVE!

Hunger Helped by Halftime show?

According to Tampabay.com, They came, they were seen and they noshed duck, shrimp and pork belly Saturday at the 18th Taste of the NFL, the annual foodie wing-ding that raises money for hunger relief.

"They" were the roughly 2,500 people who shelled out $500 each to sample tasty food and wine, plus get their photos snapped with TV celebrities, star chefs and NFL players, both current and retired. VIP tickets, which allowed an hour more of tasting, were $600.

Each NFL city sent a chef to show off its hometown fare and paired them with a football player to sign autographs. Chef Marty Blitz from Tampa's Mise en Place served up sauteed calamari in yuzu soy glaze in his 16th Taste of the NFL appearance. Retired linebacker Scot Brantley represented the Buccaneers. Over the years, the event, always held on the eve of the Super Bowl, has raised about $8 million for hunger relief organizations.

Among the celebs roaming the artificial grass at Tropicana Field were the Today Show's Meredith Viera, Ann Curry and Jenna Wolfe, Top Chef host Tom Colicchio and some contestants from his Bravo reality show, the new Miss America, Katie Stam, crown and all, plus lots of football players.

Former Dallas Cowboys great Roger Staubach hobnobbed with Jacksonville Jaguars owner Wayne Weaver while onlookers held their cell-phone cameras aloft to capture the moment. Max Weinberg, Bruce Springsteen's drummer, whose own band the Max Weinberg 7 was the night's entertainment, perused the auction items, mostly unrecognized. He paused longest at the rock memorabilia.

According to upi.com, The NFL announced Sunday that Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kurt Warner has won its Walter Payton Man of the Year award. The honor was made before the start of Super Bowl XLIII at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, where the Cardinals faced the Pittsburgh Steelers.

"I am humbled the Lord has given me such an amazing life to impact others," Warner said. "Of all the awards given to NFL athletes, the Walter Payton Man of the Year is the one that stands out above the rest to me because of what it represents. Michael Phelps was Caught Smoking a Bong! Pot Head Olympian

News of the World, a British tabloid, posted a picture on Saturday which they claim is of the 14-time Gold medalist taking a bong hit. (See photo here) Star Magazine also posted the photo. However, it isn't really clear that it actually is Phelps, who appears in profile wearing a baseball cap.

According to the News of the World story, Phelps was caught puffing the magic dragon in November 2009, weeks after his record-breaking performance at the Beijing Olympics. The story contains accounts by anonymous sources who attended the party, which the article says took place at the University of South Carolina, where Phelps pulled an "Almost Famous" moment and showed up unannounced at the shindig.

“He didn’t know many people so you’d think he’d be a little shy. But he was loud, obnoxious and slamming beers from the get-go," one of the unnamed sources is quoted in the article. “Every girl wanted a piece of him and every guy wanted to be his best buddy. He couldn’t get enough of all the attention.”

News of the World also claims Phelps' representatives attempted to stop them from running the story, but the gossip newspaper went ahead with it anyway. They have not yet responded directly to the allegations.

GushCrop isn't a Bad Stock! It's Ponzi

I didn't even know what a GushCrop was an hour ago but after some research I found that its an online seller for substance that one usually requires a prescription for. Most people already know that they need to be careful when dealing with things on the internet that you use a credit card for.
If somebody is promising free stuff and asking you for all details, it sounds like a deal that is too good to be true. Remember a lot of these things need prescription and cannot be bought by just anyone over the internet for free.

According to TechBynan.com they are suspected to be located in the United States, scandalous.Remember when buying stuff on the internet, since the transaction usually involves your credit card number, and other sensitive details like login/password. Remember that all sites use Secure Transmission Protocol. You can ensure the site you are dealing with is secure if it has https:// prefix. Generally its just http:// for regular browsing but when transactions are concerned and better security is paramount, there is the HTTPS protocol.

Times are hard but your not going to pretened to sell people medicine right or even making people believe that you can get this medicine for free. Scandalous people! I know there is a sucker born every minute and someone has to be there to capitalize, however some times I wonder if people even feel remorse for the things they do? Hey and for all the druggies that plans for the super bowl, serves yall right! Don't act like that S**t dont happen.....

Prison Guard Has Sex with Inmate and goes to Jail For it?

According to Cnn crime, A former prison secretary has been sentenced to six months in federal prison for having sex with an inmate she was supposed to be supervising, a spokesman for the U.S. Attorney's office in the District of Colorado said Friday.

Janine Sligar, 47, of Wray, Colorado, was sentenced Thursday for sexual abuse of a ward. After serving her sentence, she will serve five years of supervised release and must register as a sex offender, spokesman Jeff Dorschner said in a news release.

Sligar, who must surrender to a facility designated by the Bureau of Prisons on March 2, did not respond to a telephone call to her home for comment. She was indicted in July by a federal grand jury in Denver and pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in October.According to the plea agreement, Sligar, a 14-year Bureau of Prisons veteran, said she and inmate Eric McClain met in February 2007, when he was assigned to clean her office.

"They began to have conversations and realized they had similar interests," the plea agreement said. That summer, they initiated a sexual relationship that included 10 to 20 sessions of oral sex and sexual intercourse, ending in October 2007, it said. The liaisons primarily occurred in a staff restroom in the housing unit at the Federal Prison Camp in Florence, Colorado, according to the agreement.

Sligar, who acknowledged having detailed her activities in a journal, said she obtained a cell phone with a non-local phone number so McClain could call her without raising suspicion and admitted she gave him contraband that included photographs with explicit sexual poses, the plea agreement added.

Now what Is the big deal they don't want me to have sex with other men, and now even the prison guard cant get any! This is a little too much to call it sexual abuse he was getting service while she was getting stress relief. That's a real stimulus package! Well I hope our tax dollars are spent on other this rather than what's on the bathroom wall no matter if its bio hazard or not!

Facebook with One OPEN ID?

This week Google and Plaxo have announced that they've brough together OpenID, OAuth and the Google Contacts API to enable much simpler sign in, with the ability to bring contacts with you when you join new networks too.

(A great description of how it works can be found here: http://www.readwriteweb.com/cgi-bin/mt/mt-tb.cgi/10036)

This certainly gets close to matching Facebook Connect in most way, but misses out on two key features. First, there are no details of how other sites on we internet can use this functionality to benefit their members (like they can with FBC, albeit with some pain to get it implemented). Secondly, Plaxo and Google lack a central site with a common contact list and where details of activities on remote sites can be posted back to. OK, Google has quite a lot of e-mail addresses and Plaxo has 20 million users willing to volunteer more than that, but even combined the lack the cache of a network of 150 million people and 20% of the population logging in to check what is happening with the contacts they have (activities from FBC sites could be included in the Facebook newsfeed, driving traffic).

Finally! Bank Of America Sued For Part in Ponzi Scheme

According to ComputerWorld.com, a suit was filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia earlier this month, fraud victims claimed that BofA's role as the financial institution of the company behind the alleged Ponzi scheme lent the operation an air of misplaced legitimacy. The bank's failure to follow industry standards for compliance with money laundering laws and banking regulations, "aided and abetted" those behind the scheme, the lawsuit claimed.

Steven Berk, a lawyer at Chavez & Gertler LLP, the Washington-based law firm that filed the lawsuit, said today that the Ponzi scheme would not have succeeded to the extent it did without a "serious bank behind it. I have talked to ... victims who all said the fact they could make deposits (into the scheme) with Bank of America made them feel it was legitimate," he said. "That puts [the bank] squarely in the middle.

"It was not as if they were a tangential player in any of this," Berk said. He argued that the existence of multiple accounts in the company's name, numerous small deposits and the fact that the company was not selling any tangible product or service should have raised questions at the bank.

Named in the lawsuit along with BofA are the owners and operators of AdSurfDaily, AdSurfDaily Cash Generator, Golden Panda Ad Builder and La Fuente Dinero. All of the entities are alleged to have sold online "ad packages" that conferred membership in a program under which individuals were promised 150% of what they paid in return for viewing specified Web sites and advertisements. About 140,000 people signed up for the program.

Google Has Been Breached! Times are good for Hackers

According to the Security Fix, a glitch in a computer security program embedded deeply into Google's search engine briefly prevented users of the popular search engine from visiting any Web sites turned up in search results this morning. Instead, visitors were redirected to page that warned visitors: "This site may harm your computer."

Calls and e-mails sent to Google were not returned as of publication. I will update this blog if and when I hear back from them about the cause and length of this incident. The problem, which appears to have been corrected by the time of publication, was related to Google's "Stop Badware" program, which is designed to keep Internet users from visiting sites that Google's bots have found try to install malicious software when users browse the sites.

Google watch out time are getting hard and your pockets are awfully deep with information, that competitors might want. However this was more that likely a hacker seeing how far they could go before stopping the site or they might have got what they wanted. We will never know unless it happens again. Hopefully this won't cause my blog depends on it. lol but serious!

Chancellor Angela Merkel of Germany and A International Economic Body

According to the international Herald, a meeting of the Group of 20, an organization of industrialized nations and emerging markets, could begin laying the groundwork for change at a meeting in London in early April, Merkel said. From there, she said, the matter could go to the UN.

Striking a contrast to the gloomy atmosphere this year at a meeting that usually brims with optimism, Merkel argued that the economic crisis had laid bare serious weaknesses in financial regulation, but that the world had to look beyond the immediate.

"Incredible opportunities are opening up," Merkel said. "We are now seeing only the crisis."Merkel urged world financial leaders to implement the points that the G-20 leaders had agreed on in November in Washington. A major theme of that meeting was the need for more information on the complex financial constructs that lie at the heart of the crisis.

She emphasized that "the forces of free market economy" had to underpin the rules that emerge from the crisis. She lauded the German system, which mixes capitalism with a strong social safety net and potent regulators, but said she had no interest in "socialist command economies" and alluded to her own past as a child of the communist system.

"I grew up in what was East Germany," Merkel said. "Today I am chancellor of a united Germany. This shows me that nothing is impossible."

In her speech Friday, Merkel took a dig at the United States and Britain, which blocked German calls for greater openness by hedge funds when it headed the Group of 8 industrialized nations in 2007. "I don't want to cast my gaze back," Merkel said. "But I would like to remind people that in vain did Germany in the G-8 presidency try to inject transparency" into financial markets.

Washington Teacher Tired of Teaching N-word from Mark Twain's Huckleberry Finn and Harper Lee's To Kill a Mockingbird

According to Strollerdearby on Babble.com Washington teacher says he's ready to stop teaching about the days when the "n-word" was acceptable - and he's willing to say bye-bye to some of the most acclaimed books of school curricula to do it.

John Foley says he's sick of having to explain the usage of the "n-word" in Mark Twain's Huckleberry Finn and Harper Lee's To Kill a Mockingbird to his students.

Sure, in the end the authors stood as beacons of light in their time for writing books that decried racism, but Foley doesn't think kids (or "an angry African American mom") have the wherewithal to stick with it to the end of the books.

OK, let's back up here. He's decrying racism and a lack of education with . . . racism and a refusal to educate?

Foley wrote a guest editorial in a recent issue of the Seattle Post Intelligence, noting he's sick of having to explain to those African American mothers why he has students read books that portray blacks as inarticulate and uneducated. He's weary of having black students sit in class uncomfortable when the "n-word" is read out in class. What's more - he says the kids find the books "dull and plodding," and they never get past the usage of the racist word.

I Agree Down with the nonsense and in with the enlightenment. Progress can't stand still even in literature, wee must get the message out. Let that book burn greater masterpieces in time were burned for lesser crimes and language. Down with the old in with the OBAMS's!

When it comes to dating, I look for the small considerate things men do to get a women’s attention. He doesn’t necessarily have to have a body built like Fabio, or a bank account like Bill Gates. One of the most important things is that he calls me.

Were in an era where younger adults are addicted to electronics. We have began to communicate less face to face, and more through text messages, emails, online chatting, and any social network we can get our hands on. This new technology is awesome, it‘s convenient, it has saved me from many hours of boredom, and allowed me to have contact with friends from all over the World. Although technology is great, there are some cases where texting or emailing should absolutely not be used. For instance, if I give a nice young man my number, and he fails to call me and have a conversation, but continues to text me in regards to a first date, I will not take him seriously. Texting takes away emotion and intimacy, and shows a lack of effort on his behalf.

A word of advice to you texting guru’s, is to first establish good conversation over the phone, before you text “hey when can we hook up?” A pleasant call from someone your interested in is refreshing and shows you’re a little more interested and confident then that texting guy.

That’s just my opinion. What’s yours?

The Starbucks closure marathon

Everyone has heard about Starbucks cutting and closing and so on. This stage now includes at least 6000 more jobs that are slashed. Since their net revenue has declined by 6% compared to the quater one year ago. But what I want to mention here: What does Starbucks mean to our social life?

It obviously offers places where people come together. It is a place where you can meet prospective friends, the love of your life and maybe people you never want/-ed to see again. It is a place where you get energized by a variety of drinks that has something ready for anyone.
It even offers internet if you still don't wanna socialize at all:)

Starbucks depends on your discretionary spending by consumers so don't let this energy source leave unused. Stop by, meet people, get the boost you need for work AND people and save Jobs at the same time.

I call that energizing your life in many ways at once!
